Talk Radio: Discussing the sustainability of the Thai agricultural sector with Dr. Montchai
A radio broadcast was organised on Saturday, July 5, 2020, to present the Strength2Food final results to opinion leaders/regulators, the media, industry including SMEs, consumer organisations and the scientific community. The broadcast was recorded and made publicly available in the local language.

The “Talk to Dr. Montchai” program is a regular talk show on various agricultural economic issues and current situations by the host, Dr. Montchai Pinitjitsamut, who is a professor at the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Kasetsart University.

Dr. Orachos Napasintuwong and Dr. Apichaya Lilavanichkul were invited to talk on the topic of “Sustainable Agriculture for Opportunities of Thai Products in the Global Market”. They discussed the sustainability concepts of SDG, Sustainable Rice Platform, and the sustainability findings from the comparison of PGI vs non-PGI products (Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong-hai rice and Doi Chaang coffee) of the S2F project.  The implications were given to promote quality products that meet international standards and to provide benefits to rural households via improved profit, price premium, and community development (i.e. forest restoration and local consumption). Aspects of rural development through income, environmental and social aspects were also discussed.

Kasetsart University (KU) Public Radio channel is the first and main radio station broadcasting agricultural and public services. By disseminating in the A.M. stereo system, KU Radio has the most listeners with an emphasis on the dissemination of agricultural information and community services covering the whole country to anticipated million people including rural households, farmers, and local communities.
