Prof Filippo Arfini - AREPO

Prof Filippo Arfini (Parma University and Deputy Coordinator of Strength2Food) was invited to join the Scientific Committee of AREPO (Association of European Regions for Products of Origin) and present the S2F project at the AREPO Technical Meeting, held in Brussels on January 24th and 25th 2017 (www.arepoquality.eu). AREPO, which is also a partner of the stakeholder advisory board (SAB) for S2F, represents 27 EU Regions with the aim of developing and promoting the valorisation of quality food products and geographical indications (GIs) polices. The AREPO Scientific Committee and the regional representatives of AREPO General Assembly have shown a great interest in the overall S2F Project and especially in the measurement of impacts generated by sustainable GIs on Local Agri-Food Systems (LAFS). Following closely on recent developments of the S2F project concerning the theoretical framework and methodological approach, AREPO will be taking part in the S2F Annual Meeting in Barcelona, in April 2017, to engage in the discussions over the first pilot results of GIs.
